December 2018-September 2019
I started my nursing career as Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the medical-surgical unit at Evergreen Medical Center, and I also spent some time working as an LPN at Century Rehab and Retirement Center.
Sept 2019- Sept 2021
Upon entering the labor and delivery unit at Monroe County Hospital, which is recognized as a Baby Friendly Hospital in Monroeville, AL, I was immediately struck by the warmth and care of the environment. The experience was truly enchanting, and I found myself falling in love every aspect of it.
January 2023 - June 2024
I am presently working at West Florida Hospital in the capacity of a Labor and Delivery nurse. In this role, I have accumulated a wealth of experience in various aspects of maternal care, including assisting with deliveries, providing support for breastfeeding, managing C-sections, and caring for patients with high-risk pregnancies.
My journey

In 2017, I embarked on a journey that I felt was guided by God. Like many, I had my own expectations about where my path would lead. I had my plans, but God .
After earning my LPN and spending a year in Med-Surg, I returned to pursue my RN, and that’s when God revealed the direction He intended for my nursing career. I completely fell in love with labor and delivery and everything that comes with it. Assisting mothers after childbirth with breastfeeding and caring for their precious newborns became my passion. I cherished being there to support, nurture, and guide them through every stage—from early labor to the final moments. It was during this time that I discovered midwifery and holistic birthing, and my heart was truly captivated.
I firmly believe that God designed a woman’s body to function beautifully during labor and I believe mothers should have a voice in their care throughout the process.
As the Bible says, "Teach me to do thy will" (Psalm 143:10). I am confident that this is His purpose for me. So, when you choose me, you’re not just getting someone knowledgeable in labor and delivery; you’re getting someone who is genuinely passionate about it. Every moment I spend with you, your family, and your little one, I pray that you feel His love shining through me on your journey.

Hi my name is DonnaGean and I am a mother of 13 beautiful blessings from God. I had them all naturally. 3 in a hospital setting and the last 10 at home. It was the contrast between the two types of environments and experiences that helped me to see the calling God had on my life. I have helped with several Handfuls of home births and a couple hospital births .
I want to make sure that any woman that comes to our team will have full control of their birthing experience and we will do our best to make it a beautiful one!
I do not have all the titles as my partner but I have real life experiences and wisdom from above and together we can make an awesome team! I am looking forward to apprenticeship with Bonita and hope that we can serve you.
